Growers News:

Welcome back:

McIntosh Field & Flower: We are so excited to be back in action at the Stones River Market! We farm all of our flowers right here in Murfreesboro and keeping them as local as possible is our goal! We’ve got farm fresh cut flower bunches, gorgeous bright blue edible flowers, and loads of colorful floral confetti in the market this week! The growing season is in full swing after all this great rain and sunshine! Don’t miss out!

East Fork Farm/Worm Castings: Had a bit of delay from the tornado damage at our farm area but it didn’t stop our worms from making beautiful Castings.

Organic worm castings sold in 3 lb and 10 lb bags. Bulk orders are available by contacting us. Can be used on anything that grows: household plants, gardens, lawn. 100% pet and child friendly.

Worm-tea-ni is a “brew” that can be made from worm castings. NOT INTENDED for human consumption.

Sap Creek Gardens: Do you need Herbs for your garden or porch, we have a large selection to choose from.

Rainbow Hill Farm: We are back with a large selection of starter plants for your home gardens. Tomato, Peppers, Cucumbers and more. Plants are in biodegratable cups, you only need to put them in the ground.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: we have a large selection of house plants, hanging plants, herb plants, several items for your home and garden.

Quarter Spring Farm: is very excited to be processing new birds for the spring. We have several cuts back in stock this week, and should have even more on the market next week. We also have our usual collection of skin softening goat’s milk soaps and lotions. They would make a great gift for Mother’s Day (hint, hint)

Pinky’s Micros: Microgreens and sprouts are extremely dense in vital enzymes, minerals and vitamins, and chlorophyll. There aren’t many foods you could eat that are fresher. Put them on your sandwich, top your salads with them, or use them in place of lettuce.

“*Our new Spring Seasonal Chef’s Blend*:
•Leeks, Dill, Purple Radish, & Golden Pea Shoots.
Every season we’ll be creating new blends to represent each season. Along with Peas, Rose Radish, Broccoli, Basic salad Mix, and Sunflower.

We are also offering our Freshly Juiced Frozen 2oz Wheatgrass Shots or Freshly Cut 4oz Wheatgrass.

Enjoy a dazzling array of new flavors. Plants are at their absolute peak of flavor intensity at this stage of life. They pack 40x more vital nutrients than their mature counterparts. Come check us out!"

Shroomegy Gourmet Mushrooms: is growing some beautiful Rocky Top Blue Oysters this week! I replaced the button mushrooms in a Chicken Marsala with my blue oysters, and the flavor was fantastic. We also have some Lion’s Mane available. A great use for Lion’s Mane is to sauté it with butter and garlic. Toss with prepared spaghetti and parmesan cheese.

We are offering house dried, pesticide and chemical free Lion’s Mane powder! Lion’s Mane mushrooms contain bioactive substances that have beneficial effects on the body, especially the brain, heart, and gut. Research is being conducted into their possible effectiveness against dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, neurological disorders, and even depression and anxiety. Add 2 teaspoons of powder to your coffee for a great nutrient boost!

MISC MARKET NOTES

Misc Ordering Info

As you can see from the New & Relisted section below our grower’s gardens are starting to share their bounty! We hope you’ll take advantage of this.

Please know that many items get added/restocked/relisted without our knowledge! We share info like that as often as possible but with over 200 products there’s a lot of room to miss things!

Regardless we encourage you to order early for limited quantity items and check the Market page a day or two later before closing for anything else that may have been added.

In unrelated news – a new vendor has been added! We’re looking forward to seeing all the good things that come out of K’s Kitchen. She’s been perfecting her skill for some time. It may be next week before product listings show so keep an eye out for her baked goods.

Photo also unrelated. We just thought it was fun.

AVALON FARMS:
Seems like it’s been a long time coming, but the garden is finally producing well. Added several veggies this week. Will possibly have cucumbers next week.

Unfortunately the snap peas were lost to a failed refrigerator. 60 degrees is too warm. Actually it was apparently the perfect temperature for mold to flourish. SO SAD. I almost cried.

We look forward to seeing you next Friday at one of our pickup locations. Thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m.

If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, then your order is NOT complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.

Once you place an order, be on the lookout for the order reminder email on Wednesday with further pickup and payment notes. Thanks for your support!

CLG:  CLG Pickup TODAY 3-6pm: bring back plant pots :)

Good morning

This is a pickup reminder for those of you who ordered this week. We have been having a great EXTRAS table, so stop by even if you don’t have an order.

If you have bought any plants recently, be sure to bring back your pots if you are not in need of them: reduce, reuse, repurpose!

You can pick up your order starting at 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 925 Mitchell Street in Conway.

Please NOTE: the church parking lot may be full between 315p and 345p when the Junior High lets out and kids are getting picked up.

Please remember that although the doors are open before 3pm, we are still getting everything ready for the market. If you arrive before 3pm, you are welcome to come in and sit while you wait. In order to avoid mistakes, we will not check anyone out before 3pm. Thank you for understanding.

If something comes up that you cannot personally pick up your order today, please contact someone to pick it up for you.

Remember to bring your RINSED milk bottles if you ordered milk with exchange, and your reusable market bags. Reduce, reuse, recycle! See you this afternoon!
